Nedeljkovic Bounces Back, Red Wings Extend Win Streak to Three

The Detroit Red Wings rallied from down 2-0 to defeat the New York Rangers in overtime 3-2.  The Red Wings have now extended their win streak to three meanwhile holding 2nd place in the Atlantic.

After a rough start to the 2022′ season, Alex Nedeljkovic came up huge tonight in Detroit’s OT win against the New York Rangers. Ned who has clearly lost his starting spot to Ville Husso after a few sluggish performances, was in desperate need of a good performance with Husso on a rest day.

Ned gave up just two goals on 29 shots, one coming on a broken play which Moritz Seider took a fall. Other than that nearly a perfect night in goal for Nedeljkovic. Tonight was surely a confidence booster for the young goaltender moving forward, as he knows his consistency is crucial for the Red Wings’ success.

Kubalik Completes the Red Wings’ Rally

Dominik Kubalik buried the overtime winner for Detroit tonight. The goal was his 6th of the year, assisted by David Perron. Kubalik now is tied with Dylan Larkin for the team lead for points at 15.  8 out of 15 of Dominik’s points have come on the power play.

Kubalik hasn’t missed a beat this season since stepping into his top six role. The dynamic playmaking to go along with his goal scoring ability has been the perfect piece to the puzzle for this Red Wing’s team.

It will be interesting to see if Kubalik’s role changes as the roster starts to regroup, more importantly if he can maintain this pace. But as it stands. Detroit who has had quite the depleted roster despite the early success, have found themselves a diamond in the rough.
