Juuse Saros Stands Tall as Predators Steal Win Against Red Wings

The Detroit Red Wings suffered a disappointing 2-1 loss to the Nashville Predators at Bridgestone Arena. Despite dominating in shots, with almost twice as many as the Predators, Detroit struggled to find the back of the net against the outstanding performance of Nashville goaltender Juuse Saros. Saros made 28 saves on 29 shots, single-handedly stealing the game for the Predators and keeping their playoff hopes alive. While the Red Wings failed to come away with the win, the impressive play of new acquisition Alex Chiasson continued to shine through, extending his point streak to four games with another power-play goal, making it his third consecutive game with a goal on the man advantage.

Coaches Comments on the Red Wings’ Loss

Head Coach Derek Lalonde praised Juuse Saros’ impressive performance in net after the game, while the Red Wings were left frustrated by the disappointing loss. “We got beat by a world class performance tonight. We will have to watch back and see if we could have done a little bit more around him. Frustrating in that, we did a lot of really good things tonight. Obviously didn’t find a way to get an outcome. Maybe one critique was the five penalties we took.

I thought we were much better team tonight. Five on five. that’s ten minutes, we were unable to play five on five and had to kill. , Especially four of ’em came in the first 28 minutes and they scored that first goal right after that. So a lot of positives tonight. But very frustrating cause we did so many good things tonight. But the one critique is just the too many penalties.
